Before explaining something, someone must notice it.
Seeing What Everyone Misses
Imagine a researcher entering a laboratory.
Everyone sees the same experiment.
One person notices a tiny irregularity.
That irregularity eventually becomes a discovery.
The observation genius possesses unusually high sensitivity to anomalies.
Anomaly Detection
Scientific progress often begins with contradictions.
A result does not match the prediction.
A measurement seems wrong.
A biological trait appears inconsistent with existing theory.
The ordinary response is to dismiss the anomaly.
The exceptional observer investigates.
The Superhuman Observer
A hypothetical superhuman could track enormous numbers of details simultaneously.
They might notice microscopic changes in behavior, machinery, ecosystems, or experimental data.
But observation alone is insufficient.
The genius must distinguish meaningful anomalies from noise.
The real superpower is therefore:
attention plus judgment.
