Why Healing Is Difficult

Damaged tissue must be replaced.
Blood supply must be restored.
The resulting structure must function correctly.
Fast healing without accuracy could produce excessive scarring or malformed tissue.
The Regenerative Balance
The hypothetical regenerative human would therefore need precise control over cell growth.
Cells would need to divide rapidly when required and stop dividing at exactly the appropriate moment.
This introduces a profound biological challenge.
Uncontrolled cell proliferation is dangerous.
Thus, superhuman regeneration would require not merely faster growth but better growth regulation.
Repair Versus Regeneration
Ordinary healing often replaces damaged tissue with scar tissue.
True regeneration would attempt to restore original structure and function.
A superhuman regenerative system would therefore need extraordinary developmental information.
The body would need to know what belonged where.
